The ACSI Student Accident & Catastrophic
Accident Insurance Program continues to provide ACSI member schools with superior
programs to protect their students. ACSI has chosen this program for
member schools. The ACSI Student Accident & Catastrophic Accident
Insurance Program continues to be underwritten by "A" rated insurance carriers and
has enjoyed years of rate stability.
The ACSI program has two components, a basic
Student Accident Medical policy with options of either $10,000 or $25,000
Maximums and a Catastrophic Accident program, which supplements the basic policy
and extends coverages for additional expenses. Both programs allow schools to
select coverage for Athletic Programs, options strongly recommended
if the school participates in any type of athletics.
ACSI member schools may contact their General
Liability carrier after enrollment with these plans. Many carriers will
discount the liability rates if mandatory student accident insurance programs
are in place.
Plans are written on a secondary basis and
will revert to Primary Coverage if the student has no other health coverage.
With the declining enrollment in health plans, this may
be the only protection your student has and we suggest that all ACSI schools
implement both programs.
If your school has been enrolled in the plan
for the 2007-2008 school year, your coverage ceases as of July 1, 2008 and you
will need to re-enroll by July 1, 2008 to ensure
continuous coverage. Coverage will not be effective until the
date your enrollment and premium is received by ACSI Student Insurance (coverage cannot be
backdated).
